Each week, the team at ProfVal learns about the contributions and stories of immigrants.

Employers routinely share stories of how a person they hired through an H-1B contributed to their startup, a team within a Fortune 500 company, a family-owned business built over decades, or a nonprofit that makes the world a better place. Sometimes, an H-1B worker’s contributions represent a small part of a big team in a Fortune 500 company. Sometimes, their contributions lead to transformations within an entire company. Sometimes, their contributions save lives.

"More often than you may expect, these stories extend beyond workplace contributions – they represent meaningful cross-cultural bonds between caring people who happen to work together." - Zachary Johnson, co-founder ProfVal

H1Bexpert.com was launched to help more people experience these stories.

In particular, we recognize that the H-1B visa can represents the opportunity of a lifetime for people who contribute to the success of the U.S. At the same time, we know that the process of finding, applying for, and receiving approval from the USCIS for an H-1B position can be overwhelming. And the challenges don’t stop there – a new job represents a new life, often in an unfamiliar place.

Our goal is to provide resources to help people seeking an H-1B gain a better understanding of the process so that they can make better decisions. Accordingly, H1Bexpert.com is organized into the following step-based themes:

Blog & Homepage: Discussions of the H-1B based on current events and general advice. We’ll link to the sites and posts of others, often companies and people who have no affiliation with ProfVal or H1bexpert. Sometimes, posts may be by ProfVal, our affiliates, or partners. Click here if you want to partner with us.

Understanding the H-1B: By understanding the purpose of the H-1B and its specialty occupation requirements, potential beneficiaries can understand the requirements that employers (called petitioners) must go through to make an H-1B hire. Potential H-1B workers can learn if they may qualify and what to do if they don’t yet.

H-1B job search: Not all job searches are equal. And not every recruiter is really trying to help. We’ve tried to compile resources to help potential H-1B employees understand which companies have successfully hired H-1B workers in prior years and different approaches to finding a job.

Avoid & Respond to RFEs: You will likely get a Request For Evidence (RFE) for predictable reasons. By understanding those reasons, employers can gain a better understanding of how to avoid or respond.

Welcome to America! Getting a new job is great, but moving stinks. We provide resources and deals to help you find a place to live, get insurance, travel, and even meet new people.

Thank you for visiting our site! We hope that these free resources help people understand the H-1B and play a small role in helping to create more success stories!

Sincerely,

The team at ProfVal, LLC
